New Business Venture - Rebranding Arsenik Photography

by arsenik on Sep.20, 2009, under General

Well the time has come to begin the re-branding process of Arsenik Photography. In the recent while I’ve begun to focus mostly on the fitness industry and so far I’m loving this change. Great people to work with, great organization, and an energetic atmosphere.

With that said, I’ll still continue to do other photography projects so don’t hesitate to contact me for quotes and information. However, Arsenik Photography in the next few months will be getting a complete overhaul and a new look. The change will incorporate the re-branding efforts.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

My future car

by arsenik on Apr.12, 2009, under General

So we’re looking around for a new car right now. Walked into an Audi dealer looking for a family car, yet my eye continuously kept going over to the R8. It’s definitely my dream car. Someday! Can’t wait for my mid-life crisis :) What a great excuse to pick one of these beauties up.

Toronto Brickworks

by arsenik on Apr.10, 2009, under General

Well one of my favorite grungy looking locations in Toronto is no more. Yesterday I was driving down Bayview for a photoshoot and passed by Toronto Brickworks. I knew there were plans in the works for some time to revamp that area, but it was shocking to see some of the buildings down and major construction going on. It’s a shame as it was a great place to shoot… granted, it was a bit dusty and not that safe but a perfect location for a grungy shoot.

One of the reasons why I’m sad to see this place go is because my favorite image was actually shot there on location. The image was actually used as a full 2 page spread in Cosmo magazine.

Planning a big costume shoot

by arsenik on Apr.04, 2009, under General

Next Tuesday, April 7th I have a costume shoot planned for the entire day at the studio. The themes we’re trying to cover that day will be: Sailors & Naval officers (Officer & a Gentleman), Army guys & Andrew Sisters, RCMP (male/female), Airline Pilot & Stewardess, Police officer/Security Guard. Having done a costume styled shoot last year I’m looking forward to this one. Should be lots of fun.

Now a bit of a rant… For all the models, or people who are thinking of getting into modeling - If you sign up for a project follow through with it and don’t come up with excuses why you can’t make it. If you show interest in the project then be ready to show up when you are selected. I tell all models I work with, that photographers do talk, and as big as this industry might seem, word gets around really quickly. So if you are unsure if you can make a project don’t sign up for it, because if you bail out it will only make you look bad and unprofessional.

Delay with updates

by arsenik on Mar.27, 2009, under General

So this week has been absolutely crazy, that’s the reason why I haven’t posted much on the blog. Tomorrow I’m shooting a wedding so updates will have to wait until early next week. I’ve done several interesting and cool shots that I want to share with you so check back soon.

Also, working on a new retouching tutorial. This one will be a little more advanced and deal with beauty retouching.

Images and facebook

by arsenik on Feb.17, 2009, under General

If you are a photographer or just a regular user that sometimes posts their images on facebook - beware! Facebook has just changed their Terms of Service agreement pretty much now stating that whatever is uploaded they can use for their own purposes. It goes even further!!! If you decide to remove the images, well it’s too late they have the right to retrieve it from archive.

You can read more regarding this issue at “The Conumerist”
