My future car
by arsenik on Apr.12, 2009, under General
So we’re looking around for a new car right now. Walked into an Audi dealer looking for a family car, yet my eye continuously kept going over to the R8. It’s definitely my dream car. Someday! Can’t wait for my mid-life crisis
What a great excuse to pick one of these beauties up.
Toronto Brickworks

Well one of my favorite grungy looking locations in Toronto is no more. Yesterday I was driving down Bayview for a photoshoot and passed by Toronto Brickworks. I knew there were plans in the works for some time to revamp that area, but it was shocking to see some of the buildings down and major construction going on. It’s a shame as it was a great place to shoot… granted, it was a bit dusty and not that safe but a perfect location for a grungy shoot.
One of the reasons why I’m sad to see this place go is because my favorite image was actually shot there on location. The image was actually used as a full 2 page spread in Cosmo magazine.
In the Navy…

Had a fantastic shoot today with Sarah, Ed and Daniel. We did a multi-part creative shoot with the styling help of Jennifer from Theatrix. In addition, makeup was done by Karen Ellis who did a fantastic job like always.
Jennifer and Sarah prepared some awesome creative costumes for this shoot. I’m super excited to start going through the images to see how they turned out. With that said, here is a quick sneak peak at one of them…
Planning a big costume shoot
by arsenik on Apr.04, 2009, under General
Next Tuesday, April 7th I have a costume shoot planned for the entire day at the studio. The themes we’re trying to cover that day will be: Sailors & Naval officers (Officer & a Gentleman), Army guys & Andrew Sisters, RCMP (male/female), Airline Pilot & Stewardess, Police officer/Security Guard. Having done a costume styled shoot last year I’m looking forward to this one. Should be lots of fun.
Now a bit of a rant… For all the models, or people who are thinking of getting into modeling - If you sign up for a project follow through with it and don’t come up with excuses why you can’t make it. If you show interest in the project then be ready to show up when you are selected. I tell all models I work with, that photographers do talk, and as big as this industry might seem, word gets around really quickly. So if you are unsure if you can make a project don’t sign up for it, because if you bail out it will only make you look bad and unprofessional.
